In the 80s I worked in a publishing company with a creative department of about 80 people. The first Apple product we had was a single SE. We were excited by Hypercard! Soon thereafter, I remember walking through O'Hare with one of the company's early Mac laptops, and being the only person in the airport with a portable device.

I was bored by PCs. Apple, in many ways, made my creative career possible.

A really interesting article. I remember the Apple II. All this reminds me of the box set Halt & Catch Fire which I highly recommend and would willingly watch again. It covered these times - the enthusiasm, the creativity. The non-corporate space. It's all in there. When I've watched YouTube videos of Steve Jobs and seen the presentation of Apple products I got the feeling that only the customer mattered and his products were the most exciting thing that could possibly be.
